Come Eid And ISIS Fighters Will Get Slave Girls As Prize For Memorizing Surahs Of The Holy Quran: What Do Our Ulema Say To This?

By New Age Islam Edit Desk

 July 8, 2015

There cannot be a greater contempt of the holy Quran that guaranteed respect, honour and equal rights to women. During the month of Ramzan, the ISIS held Quran memorization contest for its fighters. The winners of the contest will get slave girls as prize and as encouragement for memorizing the Quran. The verses chosen for the contest are the Makkan verses that speak of qital and fighting with the ‘kafirs’. The  verses are Surah Muhammad, Surat al-Tawba, Surah Fath and Surah Anfal. The ISIS is doing this to revive the Arab tribal tradition of ‘Sibya’ in which human beings are given away as prize.

During its fight, the ISIS captured many women and girls from their captured territory. These women are treated as slaves and sold as used up utensils in the market. It is reported that the ISIS captured more than three hundred Yazidi women. Apart from them, there are also Christian women. Muslim women and girls who tried to escape those who do not subscribe to their ideology are also treated as prisoners and slave girls.

The ISIS will give all these women as prize to the fighters who win the contest. The first three winners will get women while the fourth to tenth will get cash prizes. The interested candidates are asked to contact four mosques run by the ISIS government: Mosque Osama Bin Laden, Mosque Abu Bakr Siddique, Mosque Abu Musab Zarqawi and Mosque Al Taqwa.

By giving slave girls as prize, the ISIS wants to revive the tribal Arab tradition of slavery and by doing so it has shown that it observes the original and literal form of Islam.

The Ifta Council of Egypt has severely condemned this practice of the ISIS by declaring it un-Islamic and a violation of the rights of women which Islam prohibits. However, no fatwa of condemnation from any other Ifta body of India or abroad has come to light. The Islamic world has been a silent spectator to all the inhuman practices of the ISIS. The Indian muftis and ulema have also not condemned the anti-Islam acts and practices of the ISIS. They did not speak out even when the self-styled Khalifa Baghdadi said a few weeks ago that "Islam had never been a religion of peace, not even for a day; Islam has always been a religion of strife and war."

  • Sultan Saheb
so you call me Islamophobe. but is it truth or you are just like a typical Muslim?
Islamophobes were imams and fuqaha. Islamophobes were shaikh sarhindi, shawaliullah. Islamophobes are their followers Sufis and non-Sufis.
you could not refute any of my quotation so best way for you is to call me islamophobe.
kchh khata teri aankhon ki bhi hai
    main akela hi gunahgaar nahi

say whatever you like to say. Fear is one of the most fatalist weapon of the Quran and Hadith.
The Quran and hadith are the causes of islmophobia not islamophobes.

  • The difference between Allah and ISIS is that Allah promised girls in hereafter but ISIS is fulfilling the dreams in this life?
kkaun intezar kare qayamat hone kaa, hisab kitab hone ka, phir koi guarantee nahi ki hoor mil hi jaaye.
which is more tempting, a promise or fulfillment of desire just now?
if some youths can become suicide bomber for a promise why not immediate realization of dreams can't make youth even more fatal?

  • Shahin Sb says : "Are you saying Naseer Saheb, that in Middle East we should be fighting Wahhabism, while in India, we should be fighting Sufism, as SIMI, an offshoot of Jamaat-e-Islami, Deoband, established, according to you,  by Sufis, Tablighi Jamaat, in your view, the only practising Sufis today, are the terrorists." Shahin Sb is upto his mischief  once again.

We should fight against extremism no matter whatever may be the sect.

Jamaat-e-Islami has nothing to do with Deoband. Its founder was a university grad and not a product of any Madrasa. It represents “Political Islam” which is not Islam at all. The political ideology is antithetical to Islam. They therefore do not represent any religious “sect”. Do I have to tell this to the editor of NAI?

The charge against Tablighi Jamat by several Sufi websites like Noor-e-Madinah is that they eschew violent Jihad. This is not only a certificate of peaceful intentions of TJ but proof that the Sufis/Barelvis very much subscribe to "violent Jihad".

“What is Jihad for TJ as per this source? It is going out in the way of Allah for Tabligh.

The same source/article says the following about TJ’s “subversion” of the Barelvi/Sufi concept of Jihad.

Jihad is totally absent in this movement. Instead of the Jamaat's directing their energies outwardly towards their legitimate Kaafir enemies, it is now directed inwardly towards the rest of the Muslims.

With the type of Islam that they portray which is completely subservient to Kuffar politics and their rejection of Jihad in all its practical aspects, this Jamaat is not even considered as a threat. This is their policy throughout the world - do not condemn the Kuffar and the Kuffar governments!

The same article is carried by several other Sufi/Barelvi websites such as Noor-e-Madinah.”

What is the meaning of "Sufi oriented", "Sufi minded" with Sufis like?:

1.Shaikh Ahmad Sirhindi  considered by the Sufi/Barelvi as the renewer of 11th Hijri century, and perhaps even as ‘Renewer of Second Millenium’ [mujaddid-e alf-e sani].  Imam Raza Khan respectfully refers to him as ‘Hazrat Shaikh Mujaddid’, and mentions with approval his work ‘Mabda’ o Ma’ad’.  He is reported to have said: “Shariat can be fostered through the sword. Kufr and Islam are opposed to each other. The progress of one is possible only at the expense of the other and co-existences between these two contradictory faiths in unthinkable.”

     2. Shah Waliullah: He may be considered to be the first Indian Wahabi. The Barelvis saw their Imam Ahmad Raza Khan as having succeeded Shah Abdul Aziz, Shah Wali Ullah’s  eldest son, as mujaddid. He is reported to have said “It has become clear to my mind that the kingdom of heaven has predestined that kafirs should be reduced to a state of humiliation and treated with utter contempt.”

     3. Raza Ahmad Khan Barelvi is Ala Hazrat for the Sufis and is considered as Mujadid or the renewer of the 20th century. According to Barelvi sources, “Ahmad Raza Khan advocated a two-nation theory at a time when both Dr. Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah believed in a one-nation theory. The voice of Ahmad Raza Khan echo availed the ears of thetwo leaders. After a number of political experiences, the two leaders extricated themselves from the morass of a one-nation theory and adopted the two nation theory. And they founded a new state, Pak istan” He refused to meet Gandhi because he was a “Hindu leader”

The Sufis are responsible for the partition of this country and the accompanying violence that claimed many lives. The estimate ranges from half a million to a million. They have shown that they are capable of launching and sustaining violent movements.

The pioneer of terrorism in India, Dawood Ibrahim is also a Sufi/Barelvi. He may be responsible for most of the major terrorist strikes in India. Mr Shahin will jump up and say that he was not an ideologue and only a criminal. That can be said of Shaikh Ahmad Sirhind also. Who is an ideologue and who isn’t? To my mind, there cannot be a religious ideology that encourages violence on the basis of faith or sect. All those who do so are criminals be they of whatever sect.

The Sufis are currently engaged in a sectarian war in India as evidenced by the several articles on this website. They are trying to grab control of graveyards and mosques on false grounds and by making mischievous allegations against other sects. The government should sit up and take notice before the Sufis succeed in vitiating the congenial environment.

The Sufis/Barelvis  take out the  Juloos Madhe Sahaba in Lucknow every year, coinciding with the Chehellum of the martyrdom of the grandsons of the prophet. While the Shias perform Tabarra or abuse the Sahaba, the Barelvi Sunnis take out a procession and organize public speeches praising the Sahaba. The two communities have frequently rioted while vying with one another - Shias denouncing the Sahaba and the Barelvis praising the Sahaba.  Interestingly and ostensibly, this procession is part of the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations! May I ask why do the Barelvis not stick to celebrating the Prophet’s birthday alone and limit themselves to speeches on seerat-e-rasool which cannot offend the Shias and choose a different time to celebrate Madhe- Sahaba praising the Sahaba? The Barelvi intention to deliberately offend the Shias is unmistakable because Madhe Sahaba is not celebrated anywhere else except in Lucknow, which has a sizeable Shia population. There is a history of violence on account of these two processions.

India, by and large, has been free from sectarian conflict where all the sects have lived amicably since independence. The Sufi/Barelvis who constitute the largest sect can help preserve peace or cause conflict. They appear to be on a path of conflict to upset the amity of over 68 years since independence.

  • Mubashir Saheb, perhaps the biggest problem is sectarianism. Muslims, even our intellectuals are so deeply attached to their sects, their imams, that they cannot see the involvement of their own sectarian ideology in encouraging, sustaining terrorism and extremism in many ways. There are sects which want to eliminate all other sects and religions from the face of the earth. These ideas are not just in books, but are being practiced. And yet, some people would refrain from condemning such violence for fear of hurting their sectarian interests. Sects have become like tribes. Islam came to bring all tribes on one platform. But even in its place of origin, tribalism and sectarianism is deeply entrenched.
Similarly, Islam was perhaps the first major philosophy of life to speak against racism. But Arabs who received this message first are the biggest racists in today's world. There is hardly any tolerance, not to speak of acceptance in their minds. These people have Arabic as their mother tongue. They must understand the Quran best, better than non-Arabs. Why this utterly UnIslamic approach then?

    By Sultan Shahin - 7/8/2015 10:58:57 PM

  • There is no greater damage done to Islam than outfits like these and terrorism in the name of Allah and His Messenger.

How can people be attracted in a positive way to Islam if such are the fruits of a tree (by which it is recognized)?

    By Mubashir - 7/8/2015 6:51:35 PM

  • Are you saying Naseer Saheb, that in Middle East we should be fighting Wahhabism, while in India, we should be fighting Sufism, as SIMI, an offshoot of Jamaat-e-Islami, Deoband, established, according to you,  by Sufis, Tablighi Jamaat, in your view, the only practising Sufis today, are the terrorists.

However, Sufi-oriented Indians being terrorists is a piece of information only available to you. How come no one else, not even the government, with its vast resources, has  been able to acquire this information. Maybe this is why Indian Mujahedin cells are not brought to light. The government should look for them in Deobandi Sufi madrasas, Tablighi Sufi Jamaat and Sufi shrines across the country.

    By Sultan Shahin - 7/8/2015 1:37:53 PM

  • Imran Sb,

Stripped of sectarian language, the problem and the solution is described in my article:
Action Points for Defeating the Extremist Ideology
    Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam
As can be seen, the problem runs across all sects.

    By Nasser Ahmed - 7/8/2015 12:29:39 PM

  • This again proves how diametrically different even Muslim intellectuals's idea of the issues are. If two Islamic intellectuals cannot agree on what is the  problem with Muslims God save this ummah. One says that Wahhabism is the root problem while the other says that it is Sufi extremism that is the real problem.
    By Imran - 7/8/2015 9:54:03 AM

  • Shahin Sb,

While Wahhabism may be the root of problems in the ME, your obsession with it as an Indian surprises me. Wahhabism, is not a problem in India. Sufism is. The Sufis fought for the partition of this country and rioted and killed people to achieve it. As Indians that should worry us more and we should guard against Sufi extremism.

    By Nasser Ahmed - 7/8/2015 9:46:09 AM

  • Shahin Sb,

The best that you and I can do is to spread the correct notions to defeat the ideology of the extremists as brought out in my article:
Action Points for Defeating the Extremist Ideology
    Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam
Adopting the right ideology and discarding the wrong ideology that is common across all sects however does not seem to interest you.
You should surely dissociate with Wahhabi or Sufi extremist ideology if you are associated with it. The Sufis were not less extreme and it would be difficult to outdo a Sirhindi or Shah waliullah or Raza Ahmad Khan. Lest you forget, their ideology resulted in the partition of this country and a million killed as a result.

    By Nasser Ahmed - 7/8/2015 9:39:17 AM

  • "War against the ISIS is incumbent on Islamic countries who are able to wage such war."

Naseer Saheb, is something incumbent on Ulema and common Muslims too? Should we not, at the very least, disassociate ourselves with the ideologies of Jihad wherever their roots may lie, in Sufism, as you and Islamophobe Yunus say or in Wahhabism say as the whole world says.

Please read at least the following portions from another article posted alongside:

Says Stanly Johny, in the Hindu (8/7/2015)

".... the roots of IS lie in Wahhabism, a stricter, puritanical stream. Wahhabism, which is derived from the preaching of Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab, an 18th century religious scholar, denounced as un-Islamic many of the popular beliefs and practices prevalent among the Arabs those days. Wahhab rejected Muslims worshipping the dead or having any saints and making pilgrimages to tombs or special mosques. He asked his followers to return to the “fundamentals” of Islam, condemned practices of Shia, Sufi and other Muslims as invalid interpretations of the religion, and emphasised that his version of Islam alone had validity. The modern-day Islamic State uses Wahhabi ideals to explain its barbarism. When it bombs a Shia mosque, its point is that it is “not Islamic”. When it destroys a tomb or an ancient statue, its argument is that such properties do not have a place in its form of Islam. Minorities are being targeted because they are “apostates”.

"Wahhab’s interpretation actually stands in contrast with several Koranic verses. [There shall be no compulsion in (acceptance of) the religion (2:256); If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues (5:48); Nor will I be a worshipper of what you worship; Nor will you be worshippers of what I worship; For you is your religion, and for me is my religion. (109:1 to 6)] But Wahhabism gained prominence in Arabia after it became a tool to expand political power.

    Savagery with Parallels

"IS’s obscene savagery has several parallels in history. It was Muhammad Ibn Saud, a tribal chieftain in central Arabia, who first used Wahhab’s ideas to mobilise socio-political power in 18th century. His son, Abd al-Aziz Ibn Muhammad, used Takfir (the practice of declaring a fellow Muslim to be kafir, or unbeliever) as a weapon to silence resistance to his political ambitions. In the early 19th century, he attacked the Shia city of Karbala, in today’s Iraq, and slaughtered thousands of Shias. IS’s approach towards Shias today is not entirely different from the one adopted by Ibn Muhammad. During the First World War, when the Saudis started mobilising power under another Abd al-Aziz, Wahhabism gained political relevance again. His Bedouin army, known as the Ikhwan, was infamous for its brutality and orthodoxy. It used brute force in the war, routinely massacred “apostates” and often slit the throats of male captives. This savagery actually helped the al-Saud family to gain political power and eventually establish the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is emulating the Ikhwan when his men behead hostages and prisoners and publicise such acts."

    By Sultan Shahin - 7/8/2015 7:38:44 AM

  • Naked aggression and oppression against defenseless people who did no harm or represent any threat. It is the worst form of Kufr that demands that these brutes are fought against and eliminated.

The following verses are a command to fight to protect the oppressed. It could be any kind of oppression or injustice against any people. Those who fight to defend the oppressed fight in the cause of Allah and the oppressors if they fight back, fight in the cause of evil.

    (75) And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!"

    (76) Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan.

War against the ISIS is incumbent on Islamic countries who are able to wage such war.

    By Naseer Ahmed - 7/8/2015 3:13:06 AM

  • May Allah Almighty kill such ideologies that are distorting Islam!

May Allah Almighty eliminate such ideologies that are enslaving and oppressing women!

May Allah Almighty curse these Daeshists or “ISIS” kharijites who are using Your holy book (Quran) and the Hadith of your beloved prophet peace be upon him for evil desires and whims!
