  • Thanks Yoginder for the enlightening review. I have filed it for future Use. Pope Paul once said that the Big Bang theory is consistent with the first verse of God in the Bible – “Let there be light, and there was light” (Genesis 1:3)

I fully agree with the writer “The moral law, the notion of right and wrong, that is a universal feature of human existence”

If an Atheist has given the Ten Commandments, 4000 years ago to the ancient people I would have given some regards for atheism. Even in the 20th century, if Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Wijeweera(Sri Lanka), without killing millions and millions of people, established equitable societies I would have joined them. After some disillusionment I returned to religion because the equitable societies are being made but at very slow process. Millions of NGOs, 700,000 nuns are working in 190 countries to make the world a better place to live in. Human Right watch, Amnesty International, UN declaration of Human Rights, American declaration of Independence, French declaration of Rights of Man are some positive signs. World has not yet lost its poetry and beauty.

ONLY THE GOD OF MORAL PERFECTION IS GOD

  • “the Moral Law, the notion of right and wrong, that is a universal feature of human existence. It suggested to him that it could be something put into all humans by God—a “theist God” who desires some kind of relationship with human beings and has therefore instilled this special glimpse of Himself into each of us.” The very same insight is in my article:

    Science and Religion

“Collins cites the Big Bang, which is said to have happened some 14 billion years ago and causing the universe to come into being, thus giving evidence for the First Cause and disproving theory that universe has no beginning or that it created itself. “The Big Bang cries out for a divine explanation”,

The same insight is in my article:

The Quran, Islamic Theology, Philosophy And The Sciences - What Is God And How Do We Go About Trying To Know God Better? (Part 1)

I go further into the concept of soul, creation of man and on evolution

The Quran, Islamic Theology, Philosophy and the Sciences – On Soul and the Creation of Man (Part 2)

On the primary purpose of revelation as giving us the moral law, the other articles are:

The Quran and the Golden Rule: ‘Do unto Others as You Would Have Them Do unto You’

An Exposition of the Verse of Light (Ayat al-Nur)

Deen-e-Islam or the Moral Way of Living in Islam

  • By yes!,
They think they do not need faith. We think we need faith. Neither they nor we have the monopoly on truth.

  • Ghulam Mohiyuddin Sahib, could I correct you here? You write "...faith is what we need, or what many of us need. Some of us do not need faith and that is okay too."

I would say: "...faith is what we need. Some of us THINK THAT do not need faith and THEY THINK that IT is okay."

  • Excellent book review! Science is what we know, whereas faith is what we need, or what many of us need. Some of us do not need faith and that is okay too. But to proclaim that science and faith are at war is not okay.
