Hindu-Muslim Religious Divide: ‘Halal Township’ Near Mumbai Spurs Outrage In India

-------------
NEW DELHI - The proposed development of an upscale residential project aimed at Muslims in a city near Mumbai has raised an uproar in India, with critics condemning the move as one that risks further entrenching the country’s Hindu-Muslim religious divide.
The controversy erupted in early September after a video advertisement for the Sukoon Empire “halal township”, featuring penthouses and infinity pools, in Karjat went viral. It shows a woman in a headscarf pitching “authentic community living” with “like-minded families that share the same values” and a “halal environment” where children can “grow safely”.
Her narration is accompanied by visuals of people who look evidently Muslim, including a man in a skullcap who is seen reading the Quran. A mention of “prayer spaces” at the project is also accompanied by a domed structure that looks like a mosque.
The ad has especially angered right-wing Hindus, who have called it a threat to India’s unity and described it as a “backdoor attempt” at imposing a “syariah parallel system”.
It also prompted an intervention from the National Human Rights Commission, which asked the state government of Maharashtra on Sept 3 to investigate the matter and report back to it in two weeks.
Mr PriyankKanoongo, the commission’s chairman, told the Indo-Asian News Service that the ad “suggests Muslims are facing intolerance and want to move to a separate place to protect themselves”.
“This is an implementation of a ‘nation within a nation’ theory,” he added. “Today, you are talking about a separate township. Tomorrow, you will want Muslim doctors. Day after, you will ask for police who are Muslim...”

Israeli Bombs Await Saudi Arabia, Turkey, And IraqIf They Fail To Take Action Against Zionist Regime’s Aggression:Ex-IRGC Chief
Sep 14, 2025

TEHRAN, Sep. 14 (MNA) – A former IRGC chief has warned regional countries that they risked facing Israeli aggression if the countries in the region failed to form a “military coalition” against the Zionist entity.
-------------
Mohsen Rezaei took to X to advise that an extraordinary Islamic-Arab summit, which is slated to take place in the Qatari capital Doha on Sunday, take the prospect of such aggression into serious consideration.
“If the summit fails to take practical action in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against five Muslim countries and its genocide in Gaza, then Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iraq too should expect the regime’s warplanes and bombs,” Rezaei wrote.
Rezaei, who is also on the Expediency Discernment Council that advises Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, was referring to the Tel Aviv regime’s attacks on Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and most recently Qatar.
“Before the regime moves against each country in the region one by one, a military coalition must be formed to confront it,” he added.
The Israeli regime on Tuesday attacked a residential compound in Doha targeting Hamas’s leadership. Senior Hamas officials survived the attack, but five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer were killed.
Hamas leaders were meeting to discuss a new US-proposed deal to end the war in Gaza, which has killed more than 64,803 people since October 2023. Qatar, along with the US and Egypt, has been a mediator in negotiations to end the war.

Pakistan security forces kill 35 militants in raids on Pakistani Taliban

-----------
Fierce clashes broke out in Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan when Pakistani security forces raided two hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban, killing 12 soldiers and 35 militants, the military said on Saturday.
Twenty-two militants were killed in the first raid in Bajaur, a district in north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Thirteen more were killed in a separate operation in South Waziristan district.
The country has faced a rise in attacks in recent years, most claimed by the Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP.
The TTP calls itself the world’s biggest jihadist front, and has committed a number of high-profile attacks including the attempted murder of the peace activist Malala Yousafzai, the murder of Pakistan’s former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and the attempted bombing of Times Square in New York.
The Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021 emboldened the TTP, and gave militants a haven over the border from where they can conduct operations against Pakistan. This has led to a deterioration of ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The Pakistani military urged the Taliban government in Kabul to “to uphold its responsibilities and deny use of its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan”.
The military described the dead militants as “Khawarij” – a term referring to a radical sect that emerged during the early years of Islam, which the government uses for the TTP. It alleged the militants were backed by India though provided no evidence.
Pakistan has long accused India of supporting the TTP and separatists in Balochistan, which New Delhi denies. There was no immediate comment from the Taliban in Kabul or from New Delhi.
Saturday’s attack was one of the deadliest in months in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where the TTP once controlled areas of territory. Last month the Pakistani military launched a “targeted operation” against militants in Bajaur, a former stronghold, which displaced tens of thousands of people.

Electoral Commission Of South Africa Rejects Islamic State Of Africa’s Bid To Register As Political Party
By GarrinLambley

The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has dismissed an appeal by the Islamic State of Africa (ISA) to register as a political party. Image: AFP
----------
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has dismissed an appeal by the Islamic State of Africa (ISA) to register as a political party, citing that the group’s proposed principles are incompatible with South Africa’s Constitution.
ISA, a newly formed organisation, had submitted an application to the IEC earlier this year, proposing to base its political platform on Sharia law.
However, the Commission ruled that the party’s guiding philosophy violated key constitutional values, including the principles of democracy, equality, and secular governance.
“The party’s proposed principles are in direct conflict with the democratic and constitutional values enshrined in South Africa’s law,” the IEC said in a formal statement.
The IEC emphasised that it cannot register parties whose policies promote governance systems or ideologies that contradict constitutional democracy.
He also drew comparisons to existing religiously affiliated parties, such as the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP), arguing that ISA’s faith-based values should be treated equally.
The group has confirmed its intention to challenge the ruling in the High Court, arguing that their freedom of association and political participation are being infringed upon.
Political analyst and UCT lecturer Dr. Ahmed Essop supported the IEC’s decision, stating that South Africa’s constitutional democracy must be safeguarded against ideologies that undermine its secular foundations.
“The IEC is rightly upholding constitutional values. Allowing a party to promote laws inconsistent with secular democracy could undermine social cohesion,” Dr. Essop said.
While the ISA has not been linked to any violence or extremist activity, its ideological platform raised concern about potential conflict with South Africa’s Bill of Rights, particularly regarding gender equality, freedom of religion, and the rule of law.
The case is expected to test the balance between freedom of political expression and constitutional compliance in South Africa’s evolving democratic landscape.

Demonstrators Throw Eggs On Bangladesh Interim Govt Adviser's Car In London
Sep 14, 2025

Dhaka [Bangladesh], September 14 (ANI): As Information and Broadcasting Adviser of Bangladesh interim government Mahfuz Alam left a SOAS-University of London programme marking the first anniversary of Bangladesh's July uprising, a group of demonstrators threw eggs at Bangladesh High Commission vehicles and briefly tried to block their path.
The Bangladesh High Commission said police were in constant contact and assured "full security" for the Adviser during his engagements.
The incident in London follows an attack on Alam a couple of weeks ago while he was on government business in New York. During an event at Bangladesh's Consulate General, protesters threw eggs (and, per multiple accounts, bottles) and smashed glass doors; the mission subsequently wrote to local authorities, including the State Department's local office, seeking action.
Press Secretary of the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam publicly condemned the attempted harassment. The Government condemns this latest attack with the same conviction that our government, the people of Bangladesh and the authorities of both host countries stand on the side of civilised values while the thugs inhabit the world of barbarism and bullying.
"This pattern of conduct has no place in any democracy that values argument over aggression and debate over thuggery. As we said after the attack in New York, violence is not protest; intimidation is not free speech. Those words apply with full force in London as they did in New York", Bangladesh interim government said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Bangladeshi news outlet ProthomAlo reported that candidates backed by Islami Chhatra Shibir under the banner of the OikkoboddhoShikkharthiJote (United Students' Alliance) have secured nine out of the 15 key posts, including the Vice President (VP), General Secretary (GS), and Assistant General Secretary (AGS).
For the VP post, Shibir leader Abu ShadikKayem won with 14,042 votes. His closest rival, BNP's student wing leader Abidul Islam Khan, received 5,708 votes.
Following the fall of the Awami League government in the July mass uprising, Shibir resurfaced publicly in September last year. Within just a year of re-emergence, it has now claimed a sweeping victory in the DUCSU polls.

Israel ramps up strikes on Gaza City, killing at least 32 people, including 12 children
WafaaShurafa
14-09-2025
A barrage of air strikes has killed at least 32 people across Gaza City as Israel ramps up its offensive there and urges Palestinians to evacuate, medical staff reported.
Israel has intensified strikes across Gaza City, destroying high-rise buildings and accusing Hamas of putting surveillance equipment in them.
It has ordered residents to leave, part of an offensive aimed at taking over the largest Palestinian city, which it says is Hamas’s last stronghold.
One of the strikes overnight and into early morning on Saturday hit a house in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood, killing a family of 10, including a mother and her three children, said health officials. Images showed the strikes hitting followed by plumes of smoke.

Israel’s Mossad 'refused to carry out ground operation in Qatar'
13 September, 2025
Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency reportedly refused to carry out a secret operation in Qatar to target Hamas leaders engaged in talks there.
Two Israelis familiar with the matter told The Washington Post that the Mossad’s refusal motivated the Israeli government to carry out airstrikes against the capital, Doha which failed to kill top Hamas leaders on Tuesday.
The Mossad's director, David Barnea, reportedly opposed targeting Hamas officials in Qatar over fears it would destroy the relationship between the intelligence agency and Qatar, which played a key mediating role in attempts to end Israel's war on Gaza.
Instead of a ground operation, Israel opted to launch 15 fighter jets that fired 10 missiles, which killed six people, including one Qatari security official.

Iraq PM urges Islamic alliance after Israeli strike on Qatar
Sep 14, 2025
Speaking to Al Jazeera, al-Sudani described the Israeli bombing of Qatar as a breach of international laws and norms and a threat to the security of the Gulf state and the region. He emphasized that nothing prevents Islamic countries from creating a joint security force for collective defense, adding, “We have many cards we can use to confront this aggression, which will not stop at Qatar.”
Meanwhile, government source told Shafaq News that al-Sudani will represent Iraq at the Arab-Islamic summit in Doha on September 14–15, noting that Syrian transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa will also attend, along with other Arab leaders.
The strikes, which targeted senior Hamas negotiators, left six people martyred, including Humam al-Hayya, the son of Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya. According to Israel Hayom, the occupation forces had informed both US and Qatari authorities prior to striking Hamas’ Doha office.
The United Nations Security Council condemned Israel’s airstrike in Doha, who hosted indirect talks between Hamas and Israel to end war in Gaza.

Gaza death toll rises, Netanyahu cites Hamas chiefs in Qatar as obstacle to truce
14-Sep-2025
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that getting rid of Hamas chiefs living in Qatar would remove the main obstacle to releasing all hostages and ending the war in Gaza.
Hamas said five of its members, including a son of its exiled Gaza chief Khalil al-Hayya, were killed in the attack, but its senior leaders and members of its negotiating team survived. Qatar said a member of its internal security forces was also killed.
"The Hamas terrorist chiefs living in Qatar don't care about the people in Gaza. They blocked all ceasefire attempts in order to endlessly drag out the war," Netanyahu said in a post on X.
Hamas has described the Doha attack as an attempt by Israel to derail the ceasefire negotiations, adding it would not change the group's terms for ending the war in Gaza.
Israel has demanded Hamas free all remaining hostages held in Gaza and disarm. Hamas says it will not free all hostages without an agreement that would end the war and will not give up its weapons until Palestinians have an independent state.

Pakistan’s deputy PM, Rubio discuss global developments, strengthening bilateral ties
September 14, 2025
ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar discussed global developments and strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations this week, Pakistan’s foreign office said, as both countries eye closer relations and economic cooperation.
Washington’s ties with Islamabad have improved in recent months after US President Donald Trump took credit for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in May. Pakistan praised Trump while India maintained that New Delhi and Islamabad should resolve their issues directly without outside involvement.
Pakistan and the US have also eyed closer economic cooperation, with both countries finalizing a trade deal in July while Washington slapped additional tariffs on India. Islamabad and Washington have also eyed enhanced cooperation in digital currency, critical minerals, real estate and other sectors of the economy.
Dar, who also serves as Pakistan’s foreign minister, received a telephone call from Rubio on Saturday night, the Pakistani foreign office ministry spokesperson said in a statement.

Frank to INEC, judiciary, security agencies: Don’t provoke Nepal-style protests in Nigeria
September 14, 2025
Comrade Timi Frank, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to implement vital reforms ahead of the 2027 elections to ensure free, fair, and credible polls.
Frank in statement on Sunday in Abuja, emphasised that both INEC, judiciary and security agencies, as well as other democratic institutions in the country, have critical roles in upholding the rule of law and preventing unrest similar to recent Nepal protests.
Recall that some opposition leaders: Mallam Nasir El-rufai in Kaduna, former AGF AbubakarMalami in Kebbi and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour in Lagos, were attacked recently.
While commending INEC’s recognition of the David Mark-led African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership, Timi Frank described the development as a positive step toward electoral inclusiveness and credibility.
He said: “This bold and positive action should not stand alone. As the nation looks ahead to the 2027 general elections, INEC must replicate this same spirit of independence and courage in the overall conduct of the polls.
“Now that the new leadership of the ADC has been recognised by INEC, we urge Nigerians to repose confidence in and support it as the party that would change Nigeria for the better and ensure freedom and prosperity for all. We also urge Nigerians to be prepared to vote and defend their votes in 2027.”
Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, warned that despite this progress, Nigerians remain skeptical of INEC’s neutrality due to contrived irregularities in the 2023 elections that favoured the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He assured INEC that anytime they act rightly, like they have done in recognising the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC and their pre-qualification of 14 associations for registration as political parties, he would commend them.
He declared, however, that whenever they act contrary to their mandate as an umpire like their observable compromised stance on the recent by-elections, he would criticise them.

Nigeria Has Had Lousy Leadership For Long Time, Says Sanusi
By Sadiq Ilyas
September 13, 2025
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has decried Nigeria’s persistent leadership failure, declaring that the country has been plagued by “lousy leadership” for many years, a situation he said was responsible for its current economic and social woes.
Speaking at the second edition of the Kano International Poetry Festival (KAPFEST), organised by the Poetic Wednesdays Initiative (PWI) on Saturday, the outspoken monarch stressed the need for good governance, adding that Nigeria’s progress was directly tied to the quality of its leadership.
“You rise and fall with the quality of your leadership, and Nigeria has had lousy leadership for a long time,” the former Central Bank of Nigeria governor said.
“You cannot give what you do not have until we begin to look at the people whom we choose to lead us. And that’s the truth. I mean, in most parts of this country, you look at people who are leading you and you say, ‘Oh God, is this really the person? How did we end up here?’”
Sanusi lamented the quality of national discourse, comparing Nigeria’s focus on ethnic and religious divisions with the more progressive conversations happening around the world.
“You see it in the news, you see what happens in the legislature, the kind of debates we are having, the kind of time we waste on issues that are totally unimportant, the pettiness,” he said.
“Look at other countries – they’re discussing climate change, discussing artificial intelligence. We are still talking about Yoruba or Igbo or Hausa, Northern or Christian. We are still in conversations that we had in the 1960s.”

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci captured national and international attention in May 2023 after cooking for 100 hours, setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. Though her record was later surpassed, Baci has remained at the forefront of culinary challenges.
At the time of writing this report, Baci is attempting to cook the largest pot of Jollof rice in collaboration with a food brand.
Chess master and founder of Chess in Slums Africa, Tunde Onakoya, etched his name in history on April 17, 2025, after playing non-stop chess for 64 hours in New York, USA. His successful attempt came a year after an earlier effort, which, though unsuccessful in breaking the record, raised over $100,000 for his charity initiative. The 64-hour duration was symbolic, representing the total number of squares on a chessboard.

How politicians started buying Nigerian judges with luxury homes and cars
CHIDI ODINKALU
September 14, 2025
In January 1993, Ibrahim Babangida was Nigeria’s military ruler. He was supposedly in the last year of an interminable transition at the end of which he promised to hand over power to an elected civilian administration. MoshoodAbiola was actively canvassing to inherit that mantle. As Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mohammed Bello was in his fourth year at the apex of the system for resolving disputes between Abiola and Babangida in the process of transition from military to civil rule. He had been CJN since 1987. At the time, Abiola was also Nigeria’s most influential newspaper publisher under the Concord Group. One of the titles published by the Concord Group was a weekly magazine called African Concord. Its editor was BayoOnanuga.
The previous month, in December 1992, BayoOnanuga’s African Concord ran a cover under the title: ‘‘Justice Mohammed Bello: Kick him out now! Lawyers demand.” Essentially, the story alleged that military ruler Ibrahim Babangida had bribed the Justices of the Supreme Court, led by CJN Mohammed Bello, with gifts of exotic Mercedes-Benz cars. At the time, Mercedes-Benz was the most famous luxury car brand in Nigeria.
This story would not have amounted to much but for what followed. Shortly after the New Year in 1993, nine of the Justices of the Supreme Court instructed Frederick RotimiAlade (FRA) Williams, the doyen of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), to file a case before the High Court of Lagos State against the Concord Group, African Concord, and its editor, BayoOnanuga, claiming that the story had defamed them. The Concord Group instructed GaniFawehinmi to represent them. At the Ikeja Division of the High Court of Lagos, where the case was tried, Samuel OmotundeIlori, who would later rise to become the ninth Chief Judge of Lagos, presided.
This case had many subplots. It turned out, for instance, that Chief Williams’s youngest son, Tokunbo, who was shortly thereafter to become a SAN himself, was married to the daughter of the presiding judge, Olusola. When GaniFawehinmi asked the judge to disqualify himself from the case, he declined, describing the request as “unprecedented” and an invitation to “an abdication of his sacred duty as a judicial officer.”

Mujahid: U.S. Attacked Afghanistan Without Proper Investigation
By Bibi Amina Hakimi
13-09-2025
Afghanistan, told TOLOnews in connection with the September 11 events that Washington accused Afghanistan and the Islamic Emirate without proper investigation and then carried out a military attack.
According to him, Osama bin Laden, then-leader of al-Qaeda, had come to Afghanistan before the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, and during the Emirate’s rule he was under restricted and controlled conditions.
Mujahid added: “The Islamic Emirate proposed to them that if you have accusations against Osama bin Laden, there are two ways: one, pursue the case in Afghan courts for transparent investigation; and if you are not confident, for greater credibility, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and another Islamic country could form a joint court to handle the case.”

Aircraft Afghans’ Property, Uzbekistan Should Return
September 14, 2025
After the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan and the collapse of their supported regime, tens of aircraft have been hijacked by the so-called republic government’s former officials to the neighboring country of Uzbekistan.
Since its return to power in mid-August 2021, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has persistently asked Uzbek authorities to return the aircraft, including military helicopters, but the neighboring country has yet to respond positively.
The Islamic Emirate with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar and Foreign Affairs Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi once again called on Uzbekistan to return the aircrafts so to be used in the transfer of any possible natural disaster victims and supplying humanitarian aid to the people affected by the earthquakes, similar to what happened in Kunar and its neighborhood provinces recently.
According to reports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan again denied returning the military helicopters and aircraft and any agreements between the two countries regarding the issue.

'I wanted to turn this Preston building into bedsits, but the council said no - so now it'll be a mosque'
By Paul Faulkner
13th Sep 2025
A developer whose controversial plans for a former priests’ house in suburban Preston have repeatedly been rejected by officials says he now intends to hand it over to a mosque.
Mick Patel wanted to turn the property on Sharoe Green Lane, in Fulwood, into 31 bedsits, which he said would be marketed for use by staff working at the nearby Royal Preston Hospital.
However, that bid – for the conversion of a collection of buildings that had operated as the Xaverian Mission Spirituality Centre for more than 25 years – was knocked back by Preston City Council’s planning committee last December, a decision that was later upheld on appeal to a planning inspector.
It was concluded that the “comings and goings” associated with such a large house in multiple occupation (HMO) would far exceed those of the surrounding residential properties. As the spirituality centre, its only permanent residents were a small number of clergymen, but it also served as a retreat house.
RSS leader Hosabale questions secular and socialist ideals, exposing deeper ideological aims behind Sangh Parivar’s view of the Constitution.

Former call centre to be converted into mosque
Tony Gardner
14-09-2025
A former call centre is to be converted into a mosque after planning permission was granted.
The building on Tadman Street in Wakefield was previously occupied by water and energy firm Kingspan, but then stood vacant for about three years.
The property was "currently being used for a place of worship and community centre without planning permission", according to Wakefield Council.
The application for the mosque stated the building – which was bought by a charity following public donations - would be used as a place of worship for the Islamic faith and would "be open and available for five daily prayers and Eid community prayers".

Malaysia Partners with Zetrix for World’s First Shariah-Compliant AI Framework
by Miles Bennet
September 13, 2025
In a groundbreaking move that could reshape the intersection of technology and Islamic ethics, the Malaysian government has partnered with Zetrix AI Berhad to establish the world’s first global framework for Shariah-compliant artificial intelligence. The collaboration, formalized through a Letter of Intent signed on September 13, 2025, in Johor Bahru, aims to create comprehensive standards for AI certification, governance, and compliance with Islamic principles. Witnessed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the agreement involves the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) and Zetrix AI, the developer behind NurAI, touted as the planet’s inaugural Shariah-aligned large language model.
This initiative builds on Zetrix AI’s prior innovations, including the launch of NurAI in August 2025, which integrates Islamic values into AI responses for sectors like finance, healthcare, and legal advice. The model supports multiple languages, including Malay, Arabic, and English, and adheres to guidelines from Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM). Industry experts see this as a response to growing concerns over AI’s ethical implications, particularly in Muslim-majority nations where Shariah compliance is paramount.
The partnership’s timing aligns with broader calls for regulatory oversight. Just days before the signing, Malaysia’s Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs, Datuk Dr. MohdNa’im Mokhtar, urged religious authorities to develop Shariah guidelines for AI, highlighting risks like unchecked data bias and moral dilemmas. According to reports from Lowyat.NET, Na’im emphasized AI’s potential to disrupt Islamic practices if not governed properly, echoing sentiments in a recent post on X by BeritaHarian, which stressed the need for controls to protect umat Islam from technological overreach.

No plans to abolish matriculation as education minister affirms both matriculation and STPM remain key for university entry
14 Sep 2025
NIBONG TEBAL, Sept 14 — The Education Ministry (MOE) has stressed that there is no need to abolish the matriculation system, as both the programme and the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) are recognised and fulfil the merit requirements for entry into public universities (UA).
Minister FadhlinaSidek said both systems have long been part of the national education framework and play an important role in providing access to higher education for students.
“I have followed the debate and discussions on abolishing matriculation, but I would advise against taking this issue to extremes. Both STPM and matriculation have long been established in our education system.

Doha Summit to shape Arab, Islamic stance toward Israeli aggression:Syrian researchers, academics
September 13, 2025
Syrian researchers and academics affirmed that the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit to be held in Doha this Monday highlights the importance of reshaping a unified Arab and Islamic position toward the Israeli aggression that targeted residential compounds of several Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, to confront Israeli policies, support the Palestinian people and their rights, and underscore Qatar's pivotal role in mediation efforts since the outbreak of the war.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dean of the Faculty of Media at Damascus University Dr. Khaled Za'rour said that holding the summit at this time carries significant implications, noting that it follows directly after the Israeli attack on a residential compound for Hamas members in Doha, marking the importance of both timing and content.
He added that the summit includes consensus on rejecting and condemning the aggression, considering it a pivotal shift in the series of Israeli attacks, as it targeted a state hosting negotiations and acting as a mediator.
Dr. Za'rour explained that the summit will send a message of unity within the Arab ranks and that the Arab heart beats strongly in solidarity.
He noted that the aggression has influenced the Arab and Islamic stance by exposing the false Israeli narrative attempting to justify its attacks, emphasizing that positions will not be complete unless translated into practical steps, including full political and economic boycott, redrawing military and political alliances to identify the most loyal partners, and leveraging the economic power and geographic position of Arab states to strengthen the stance.
The dean pointed out that the aggression attempted to weaken Qatar's role but instead strengthened it, as Arab ambassadors' statements at the UN General Assembly showed that Qatar emerged from this aggression with a stronger and more influential position, reinforcing the Palestinian cause.

Doha summit provides key opportunity for unified Arab response to Israeli aggression: Experts
14 Sep 2025
Gaza: Palestinian political analysts and experts agree that the upcoming emergency Arab-Islamic summit to be held in Doha, tomorrow, represents a crucial opportunity to coordinate Arab and Islamic response to the Israeli entity’s arrogance and blatant violations of international law and state sovereignty.
Speakers noted that the summit is expected to formulate a unified stance to confront Israeli encroachments on Arab sovereignty and to reach a decision supporting Arab, international, and UN efforts to halt the ongoing genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza Strip over the past two years, as well as to oppose the Judaization, annexation, and expropriation projects Israel has begun implementing in the West Bank.
Political analyst and academic at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, Dr. Samir Abu Madlala, stated that the Arab and Islamic countries participating in the summit are called upon to stand with Qatar in defending its national sovereignty.
He emphasised the need for these countries to reassess their relationship with Israeli occupying entity, considering it a colonial expansionist state that poses a threat to the interests of Arab nations and peoples - a stance that Israel’s far-right government continues to flaunt.

Arab and Islamic summit in Doha to highlight seriousness of Israel's attack on Qatar
Nada AlTaher
September 13, 2025
Qatar's hosting of leaders from Arab and Islamic countries in Doha on Monday is the strongest demonstration yet of its anger after Israel carried out an air strike on Hamas leaders in its capital on September 9.
While Israel has been at war with the Palestinian group in Gaza since 2023, its decision to attack Hamas in the territory of a fellow US ally shocked the region, especially since Qatar has played a leading role in trying to mediate an end to the war.
Israel's attack on Tuesday was immediately condemned by Qatar's Gulf neighbours as a breach of sovereignty and a setback to diplomatic efforts to end the war in Gaza. Several leaders, including UAE President Sheikh Mohamed, visited Doha in a show of solidarity with Qatar.
Reflecting the seriousness with which Israel's action is being viewed, leaders of Arab and Islamic states are expected in Qatar's capital on Monday for an emergency summit to discuss a response.
The summit “reflects the broad Arab and Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar in confronting the cowardly Israeli aggression that targeted the residential headquarters of several Hamas leaders, and these countries' categorical rejection of the state terrorism practised by Israel”, Majed Al Ansari, spokesman for Qatar's Foreign Ministry, said on Saturday.
Hasan Al Hasan, senior fellow for Middle East policy at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, said Israel's attack on Hamas leaders abroad came as no surprise, but the breach of Qatar's sovereignty and airspace was a “game changer”.

'Fight Back Or Die': Elon Musk's Strong Message At UK Anti-Immigration Protest
Sep 14, 2025
Billionaire Elon Musk came out in support of the anti-immigration protests in the United Kingdom, urging the Britons to "fight back or die" for their rights.
Addressing the protesters at "Unite the Kingdom" rally virtually, the Tesla CEO said, "My appeal is to British common sense which is to look carefully around you and say if this continues, what world will you be living in this. This is a message to the reasonable center, the people who ordinarily wouldn't get involved in politics, who just want to live their lives. My message is to them, if this continues, that violence is going to come to you."
Calling out the Keir Starmer-led UK government's immigration policies, he said, "There's a massive incentive on the left to import voters. So if they can't convince their nation to vote for them, they're going to import people from other nations to vote for them. It's a strategy that will succeed if it is not stopped."
