“Jihad Is About Conquering The Evil Within You - Not Killing People On The Streets”: Shah Rukh Khan
Nov 2, 2025

As Shah Rukh Khan turns 60, his current director Siddharth Anand shared the title reveal video of their latest film King to the world as his birthday gift. And the video has made everyone sit up and notice as to how SRK is not only pushing the envelope of entertainment but also his body limits. As the video does the rounds of the internet, another video of his has also been popping up, the one where he explains the true meaning of Jihad.
In the video from a press conference he says, “There is a word in our religion which is misused- Jihad. The thought process of Jihad is exactly the same - to conquer the bad thoughts inside us, to fight for it, that is called Jihad. Outside, killing people on the streets is not called Jihad,”
King marks SRK’s first film with his daughter Suhana Khan, he and director Siddharth Anand has put together a stellar cast for the film with Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Raghav Juyal, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. The film is slated to release in 2026 and will be Shah Rukh Khan’s first film after a gap of two years. He had returned to the big screen with Pathaan , Jawan and Dunki in 2023 after a 4 year long sabbatical after the failure of Zero. This year he was seen doing a cameo in son Aryan Khan’s debut directorial OTT show The Ba***ds of Bollywood where he played himself.
In a world divided by misunderstanding, SRK’s interpretation of Jihad stands as a powerful reminder: peace begins within.

Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Women Jihad Brigade “Jamaat-ul-Mominaat”: Pak’s Desperate New Terror Strategy Post-Operation Sindoor
November 1, 2025

In a chilling development that exposes both Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of terrorism and the desperation following India’s Operation Sindoor, Jaish-e-Mohammed has announced the formation of its first-ever women’s brigade, “Jamaat-ul-Mominaat” (Community of Believing Women). This marks a seismic shift in South Asian terrorism, as JeM abandons its traditional stance against deploying women in combat operations, signalling an ominous escalation in Pakistan’s proxy war against India.
To understand this strategic pivot, one must first acknowledge what Operation Sindoor accomplished. India’s 7 May 2025 precision strikes destroyed the headquarters of JeM at Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur, along with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation, launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 tourists, dealt a crushing blow to Masood Azhar’s organisation—14 members of his family were killed, including his brother-in-law Yusuf Azhar, his elder sister Hawa Bibi, and several nephews including Jameel Ahmed, Hamza Jameel, and Huzaifa Azhar.
In a revealing video, JeM commander Ilyas Kashmiri confirmed these losses, stating the organisation “tukdetukdehogaye” (torn to pieces). An emotional Masood Azhar was heard saying, “It would’ve been better if I had died too.” Yet rather than abandoning terrorism, Pakistan and JeM have doubled down with an even more sinister approach.
The formation of Jamaat-ul-Mominaat represents Pakistan’s calculated response to operational degradation. In a leaked 21-minute audio recording, Azhar announced plans to establish branches of the women’s wing in every district of Pakistan—a chilling demonstration of the scale and ambition behind this initiative. Recruitment began on 8 October 2025 at Markaz Usman-o-Ali in Bahawalpur, with the decision jointly approved by Masood Azhar and his brother Talha al-Saif.
The brigade’s leadership reveals the personal vendetta driving this initiative: Sadiya Azhar, Masood’s sister and widow of Yusuf Azhar killed in Operation Sindoor, heads the unit. She is assisted by another sister, Samaira Azhar (also known as Umme Masood), and Afeera Farooq, widow of Pulwama attacker Umar Farooq. Each district branch will be headed by a “District Muntazima” responsible for recruiting women and enforcing strict operational security protocols.
According to the audio recording, Azhar outlined a comprehensive blueprint for recruiting, training, and deploying women. Women recruits will undergo a 15-day training course called “Daura-e-Taskiya”, mirroring the male recruits’ “Daura-e-Tarbiat” programme, followed by specialised courses including “Daura-Ayat-ul-Nisah” and advanced training through “Tufat al-Muminat”. Most disturbingly, Azhar promises recruits that “any woman who joins JeM’s women brigade will go straight to paradise from her grave after death”—a transparent indication of intent to deploy female suicide bombers.
Operational security is paramount in Azhar’s blueprint. Strict rules prevent women in the brigade from speaking to unrelated men through phones or messaging apps, ensuring compartmentalisation and reducing infiltration risks. This level of operational sophistication indicates JeM’s serious commitment to making this brigade operational rather than merely symbolic.
JeM’s recruitment strategy exploits multiple vulnerabilities. The brigade specifically targets wives of JeM commanders, economically backward women studying at centres in Bahawalpur, Karachi, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Haripur, and Mansehra and, crucially, 4-5 women whose male relatives were killed by Indian forces. These women are showcased under a campaign titled “Shoba-e-Dawat” to inspire new recruits through emotional manipulation.
The online radicalisation infrastructure is particularly concerning. Azhar’s sisters conduct daily 40-minute sessions via platforms like Zoom, targeting women across Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and South India. Classes scheduled five days a week beginning 25 October combine religious indoctrination with jihadi ideology. On 19 October, a physical recruitment event called “Dukhtaran-e-Islam” (Daughters of Islam) was held in Rawalakot, PoK.
JeM collects 500 Pakistani rupees from each enrolee while requiring detailed personal information through online forms—simultaneously funding operations and building a database of radicalised women. Azhar’s recent address at Markaz Usman O Ali on 27 September included direct appeals for donations, revealing the organisation’s financial desperation post-Sindoor strikes.
The deployment of female terrorists is not unprecedented globally but represents a terrifying new chapter for South Asian terrorism. Organisations like ISIS, Boko Haram, Hamas, and LTTE have long utilised women as suicide attackers, exploiting societal assumptions that women pose less threat. However, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen had historically avoided this tactic—until now.
Intelligence assessments suggest JeM’s move signals clear intent to train and deploy female suicide bombers in future operations. Azhar’s promise of paradise to recruits after death confirms this grim trajectory. Women operatives present unique security challenges: they face less scrutiny at checkpoints, can access restricted areas more easily, and exploit gender-based security blind spots at soft targets including schools, hospitals, markets, and religious sites.
The formation of a women’s terror brigade while Pakistan claims to combat terrorism under FATF regulations exposes Islamabad’s blatant hypocrisy. Rather than dismantling terrorist infrastructure, JeM and other groups have strategically relocated bases to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province near the Afghanistan border to escape future Indian strikes. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence continues providing sanctuary, resources, and operational support to these organisations.
This relocation creates additional vulnerabilities. KPK is Pakistan’s most restive region where the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan operates with relative impunity, having conducted over 600 attacks on Pakistani forces in 2025. The Afghan Taliban’s refusal to act against TTP has created a permanent sanctuary beyond Pakistan’s control, and the deteriorating Pakistan-Afghanistan relationship following Pakistani airstrikes on Kabul, Khost, Jalalabad, and Paktika reveals the instability of these regions.
India must urgently adapt its counterterrorism strategy to address this evolving threat. First, intelligence capabilities require immediate enhancement for monitoring online radicalisation platforms, infiltrating women-only terror networks, and developing gender-sensitive counterterrorism protocols. Security procedures at vulnerable locations must be revised to address threats from female operatives who evade traditional profiling.
Second, India should pursue aggressive international pressure for Pakistan’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism. The evidence is incontrovertible: JeM openly recruiting women through online platforms while Pakistan claims FATF compliance demonstrates Islamabad’s duplicity. India must work with the United States, European Union, and other partners to ensure Pakistan faces severe economic and diplomatic consequences.
Third, military preparedness must be maintained for follow-up strikes. Operation Sindoor established critical precedents—assured retaliation, rejection of nuclear blackmail, and refusal to differentiate between terrorists and state sponsors. Future operations should target high-value terrorist leaders and infrastructure in KPK with even greater precision.
Fourth, India should leverage the Afghanistan opening. The Taliban’s recent visit to India and New Delhi’s decision to reopen its Kabul embassy signal strategic realignment. Cultivating this relationship through humanitarian assistance while ensuring Afghanistan doesn’t become a staging ground for Pakistan-sponsored terrorism will diplomatically isolate Islamabad.
Pakistan’s multi-front crisis creates unprecedented opportunities for India. Beyond battling TTP in the northwest, Pakistan faces separatist movements in Balochistan, economic meltdown, and growing international isolation. China’s support remains strong, but Beijing grows increasingly concerned about regional instability.
The formation of Jamaat-ul-Mominaat represents not strength but desperation—a cornered Pakistan attempting to regenerate its terrorist capabilities through a morally bankrupt strategy of weaponising women. India’s response must be comprehensive, sustained, and unrelenting. The objective is clear: fundamentally alter Pakistan’s cost-benefit calculus by making the price of supporting terrorism unbearable for its military establishment. Only then will South Asia find genuine peace.

‘T.T.P. is your problem; solve your own mess!’ Taliban snubs Pakistan
Author : Ramesh Ramachandran
02-11-2025

Peace-talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Taliban remain deadlocked. What started as a glimmer of hope after deadly border-clashes has fizzled into finger-pointing and fresh threats. Both sides say that they will resume negotiations at Istanbul in Turkiye on 6th November.
In October, tensions exploded along the 2,600-kilometre-long frontier separating Afghanistan and Pakistan – called the Durand Line – which Afghanistan does not recognise. The violence erupted following explosions in Kabul on 9th October, which the Taliban authorities blamed on Pakistan. Pakistan claimed that the airstrikes deep inside Afghanistan targeted the hideouts of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan extremist group in Kabul and Kandahar. The Taliban fired back, attacking Pakistani posts. Dozens died on both sides. It was the worst violence since the Taliban seized Kabul in 2021. The United Nations Mission in Afghanistan told French news agency A.F.P. that at least 50 Afghan civilians had been killed and 4 hundred and 47 injured. For its part, Pakistan’s military said that 23 of its personnel had been killed and 29 others wounded, without detailing civilian casualties.
In the last week of October, Turkiye hosted the second round of talks in Istanbul, again with Qatar’s help. The talks were aimed at securing a long-term truce between Afghanistan and Pakistan because unchecked violence could spark a full-blown war, dragging in the U.S., China, and even India.
So, these were high-stakes, closed-door huddles. Pakistan sent its Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Atta-ullahTarar, and Maj. Gen. Shahab Aslam from the Pakistani spy agency I.S.I.’s special operations wing. The Taliban delegation was led by Defence Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob. Talks were held over a number of days but deadlock persisted. Pakistan blamed the Taliban for dodging commitments. Kabul pointed fingers right back. It was reported that direct interaction between the two delegations remained limited throughout, with most communications handled through mediators. Even during meal breaks, the two sides barely spoke.
Discussions got tense fast. In a heated exchange, the Pakistani General admitted that Pakistan could not stop drone attacks inside Afghanistan because of a secret pact with the U.S. For the Taliban, the presence of U.S. drones in Pakistan is an irritant. Taliban retorted that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was Pakistan’s internal matter.
Formed in 2007, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, also known by its acronym T.T.P., is a loose alliance of extremists (mostly Pashtuns from Pakistan) who want to topple the Government in Islamabad and impose a strict Sharia or Islamic law. Pakistan uses the term Fitna al-Khawarij to describe the T.T.P. militants. According to a notification issued by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry in July 2024, the T.T.P. has hurt Islam and, therefore, such elements are to be referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij. Pakistan says that the Taliban gives the T.T.P. safe havens, training camps, and even ideological cover.
A quick word about the Pashtuns before we move on. The Pashtuns are an ethnic group, living in Afghanistan and Pakistan. They share a common, cultural identity. They are the largest ethnic group in Afghanistan and the second largest in Pakistan. The Durand Line, which is the de facto border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, divides the Pashtun population between the two countries and has been a source of friction ever since. Therefore, the concept of a unified Pashtunistan has been a recurring theme in regional politics.
Talking of the border, it’s been closed now for weeks on end. News of the deadlocked talks was met with despair. A vehicle spare-parts trader in the Pakistani border town of Chaman told French news agency A.F.P that the closure was very concerning for businesses.
The Pakistani delegation reacted with fury to the failure of the talks. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif threatened to obliterate the Taliban, in a dramatic escalation of rhetoric. Minister Asif said on X: “Pakistan does not require to employ even a fraction of its full arsenal to completely obliterate the Taliban regime and push them back to the caves for hiding”.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that truce negotiations concluded for now in Istanbul without a workable solution because, he alleged, the Afghan side kept deviating from the core issue on which the dialogue process was initiated. He accused the Taliban negotiators of engaging in deflection and playing a blame game.
For its part, the Afghan side said that it had no control over the Pakistani Taliban. Abdul Mateen Qani, a spokesperson for Afghanistan’s interior ministry, told Afghan media outlet Ariana News that any Pakistani provocation would be met with a response that will serve as a lesson for Pakistan and a message for others.
What has equally upset Pakistan was the Taliban’s announcement of a dam on the Kunar river. Just days before the talks began, Taliban Supreme Leader Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada greenlit the plan, aiming to restrict flow of water to Pakistan after deadly clashes along the Durand Line. Taliban Deputy Information Minister MuhajerFarahi shared the information on X. It echoed India’s decision to put the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan in abeyance, as retaliation for the 22nd April terror attack at Pahalgam in India.
Building a dam on the Kunar river would mean reduced flow of water, which could cause drought in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces of Pakistan.
The Kunar River is a tributary of the Kabul River. The 480-kilometre-long Kunar River originates in the Hindu Kush mountains, near the Broghil Pass, close to Pakistan. It then flows south into Afghanistan, running through the Kunar and Nangarhar provinces, before emptying into the Kabul River. In Pakistan, this river is known as the Chitral. The Kabul River, into which Kunar merges, forms the most significant trans-boundary water-system between the two nations. It feeds into the Indus River near Attock, serving as a crucial source for water for irrigation and agriculture in Pakistan’s north-western provinces.
Taliban’s Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, who visited India in October, appreciated India’s development-support over the years. A joint statement issued towards the end of Muttaqi’s visit said that both sides underscored the importance of sustainable water management.
The Indian foreign ministry spokesperson said that “India stands ready to support Afghanistan in its efforts to manage water resources sustainably, including with hydroelectric projects[.] As you know, there is a history of cooperation, including the Salma Dam in Herat province.”
The spokesperson Indian diplomat rubbed it in by saying that “Pakistan is infuriated with Afghanistan exercising sovereignty over its territories[.] Pakistan seems to think it has the right to practice cross-border terrorism with impunity. Its neighbours find it unacceptable[.] India remains committed to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan”.
According to latest reports, Pakistan and Taliban are likely to resume talks in Istanbul at Turkiye’s request. A joint statement issued by Turkiye said that Pakistan has agreed to continue a conditional ceasefire with the Taliban. Also that both sides will resume talks in Istanbul on 6th November.

Hafiz Saeed’s Jamaat-ud-Dawa Expands Network In Bangladesh
Nov 02, 2025,
By Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury

Hafiz Saeed
-----------
New Delhi: Hafiz Saeed’s Jamaat-ud-Dawa is allegedly expanding its network in Bangladesh, raising apprehensions of spread of radical ideas and cross-border extremism in the backdrop of Pakistan’s ISI reviving its cell in the country.
The ongoing visit to Bangladesh by Ibtisam Elahi Zahir, general secretary of Pakistan's Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith and a close aide of Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, has raised concerns about efforts to encourage radical ideas in a country that has long nurtured secularism and pluralism, according to Bangladesh watchers.
Zahir arrived in Bangladesh last week and began touring areas along the India-Bangladesh border, ET has learnt. This is Zahir's second visit to Bangladesh after the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus came to power in August last year.
Zakir is learnt to have delivered speeches at mosques along the border areas including Rajshahi and held a meeting with Ahle Hadith Andolan Bangladesh chairman Asadullah Al Ghalib in the city. His schedule includes visits to several other areas along the Bangladesh-India border and he even plans to address a conference of Salafists.
Apprehensions are growing in the Indian security establishment about the revival of terror cells in Bangladesh reminiscent of the 2001-06 period. Several terror attacks in India’s heartland had links in terror network in Dhaka under ISI’s patronage and with support of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The period also saw rebels in India’s Northeast, especially Bangladesh-based ULFA leaders, working closely with the ISI and certain ministers of the then BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami government. The Pakistani ..
Zahir has been under watch in the UK for his inflammatory speeches. There are reports that the UK Charity Commission in the past brought Zakir under probe and there have been demands to ban him from entering the country.

Mamdani’s God Squad: The clerics, activists and political operatives who have his back
By Asra Q. Nomani
November 1, 2025

Zohran Mamdani leads the polls in NYC mayoral race
Fox News' Bill Hemmer breaks down the latest on key races to watch nationwide, including the New York City mayoral election and the gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey.
---------------
When New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani stepped to the microphone outside the Islamic Cultural Center of the Bronx last week near Yankee Stadium, his voice broke as he spoke about "the memory of my aunt who stopped taking the subway after Sept. 11 because she did not feel safe."
Almost two decades ago, in 2007, she was forced to resign as principal of a city school after defending a T-shirt with the slogan "Intifada NYC."
City officials viewed it as a call to violence. She said it was benign. Her case became a rallying cry for Muslim American activists who cast her as a victim of "Islamophobia."
Now, Almontaser was back, this time as a senior advisor to Emgage Action and a board member of Yemeni American Merchants Association Action, two of 110 political nonprofits, community groups and political action committees backing Mamdani as he alleges "Islamophobia" against him. Recently, when critics questioned Mamdani’s ties to hardline Brooklyn Imam Siraj Wahhaj, she sprang to action, helping to organize a protest to defend Wahhaj.
That rapid, coordinated response captured the modus operandi of a network of political operatives and clerics intertwined with the shared mission of catapulting Mamdani into the mayor’s office.
Mamdani’s background diverges from many of his co-religionists. In an interview, he said he is a Khoja Shia Muslim, part of a small, relatively liberal sect with roots in India. Many of his New York-area allies are religiously strict Sunni Muslims who practice more conservative interpretations of the faith. But they find common ground in politics.
"It’s a sophisticated fusion of religion, politics and identity," said Mansour Al-Hadj, a Washington-based researcher on Muslim political movements and extremism. "The same networks that once focused on community services are now mobilizing voters and producing candidates. This is how political Islam adapts inside democracy."
Mamdani’s God Squad includes about a few dozen key players who specialize in painting any critique as an attack on their faith, accusing critics of Islamophobia even as many of them have engaged in strident rhetoric against the U.S., Israel and capitalism.
Mamdani set off a firestorm Oct. 7 when he walked into Masjid At-Taqwa in Brooklyn and later posted a photo of himself beaming beside the mosque’s imam, or prayer leader, Wahhaj.
The imam’s checkered past goes back decades. In a 1992 talk, he said American Muslims should elect an "emir" rather than choose between George Bush and Bill Clinton. Soon after, he served as a character witness in the trial of Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, the so-called "Blind Sheikh" convicted for plotting the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed six people.
In 2018, three of Wahhaj's children were arrested after authorities found 11 malnourished children in a New Mexico compound tied to his family; a grandchild had died in what authorities described as an attempted exorcism. He told local news reporters, "Whatever they did wrong … it's not acceptable to us."
In New York, the Muslim American Society recently signed on to a letter to challenge "unmistakably Islamophobic, anti-Black, and xenophobic" attacks on Mamdani. Signatories included CAIR National, the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ New York chapter, Islamic Circle of North America’s New York chapter, the Islamic Center of Five Towns, Muslim American Society of New York, Muslim Community Network, Rockaway Islamic Center and a "Syosset Muslim Community."
ers of the Muslim American Society have long been quick to accuse others of Islamophobia even as they unabashedly call for violence against their perceived enemies.
At an Eid celebration earlier this year, a cleric at the Muslim American Society cast Muslims as victims worldwide. Mohammad Badawi, youth director at the Muslim American Society, declared the local community’s joy would only be complete when Muslims are "victorious worldwide," adding they would celebrate "after the destruction of the illegitimate Zionist occupiers," Israel.
He regularly organizes anti-Israel protests in a campaign against "injustice and oppression." At one protest, Badawi urged youth to "fight back" against injustices "by any means necessary."
Akl calls the street protests "sacred activism," a mix of faith and resistance that will "free Palestine." Since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, the Muslim American Society Youth Center has organized prayer protests on Wall Street outside the New York Stock Exchange and street protests for "Nakba Day," calling the day Israel was created a "catastrophe," and youth-led demonstrations outside BlackRock.
When the New York Police Department arrested Akl and other activists, the Council on American-Islamic Relation’s New York chapter sent out a press release demanding their release.
During the Oct. 7 protests this year against Israel, Akl shouted, "We did not act enough! We will show up, stronger than we did the first Oct. 7." In response to criticism, he posted a message on social media, doubling down and saying, "Saying we didn’t act enough to stop a full blown genocide against palestinians [sic] is incitement?? Saying we need to be louder and protest more and continue to speak up for gaza [sic] is a crime? Zionist tears once again for the most documented genocide in modern history."
Federal prosecutors named CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal terrorism-financing case against the Holy Land Foundation, a nonprofit based in Texas. In 2008, five Holy Land leaders were convicted of funneling $12.4 million to Hamas. Ultimately, no CAIR officials were charged in the case.
BasimElkarra, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations California chapter and one of the founders of a new 501(c)(4) nonprofit, CAIR Action Inc., now seems to be pursuing a new and entirely legal means of financing causes, taking a page from the powerful pro-Israel political action committee AIPAC. He told a meeting of the Islamic Circle of North America, "AIPAC has had the run for 60 years, but it is over now.
"We will teach these folks a lesson … we are coming." In another speech, he said, "The game has changed. AIPAC has been around since 1961…and now they have a formidable foe!"
Hasan’s own record includes sermons likening non-Muslims to "animals" and comparing gay people to "sexual deviants." He has said his views have become more progressive since then.
He deleted the message amid criticism and said, "I deleted this sarcastic quote-tweet because MAGA and Islamophobic folks are clipping it out of context and trying to ridiculously suggest I’m inciting violence. I was obviously mocking the MAGA slogan ‘Make America… Again’ slogan and highlighting the shocking number of plane crashes under Trump and the FAA cuts. But this tweet was in poor taste, poorly worded, and has allowed people in bad faith to call me a terrorist…"
He urged Muslim Americans to move beyond "naive" religious critiques of politicians who are more socially progressive than they are comfortable.
Meanwhile, Qadhi once mocked European Jews as "white, crooked nose, blonde hairs" and "not a Semitic people." In the same lecture, he recommended a book, "The Hoax of the Holocaust."
Most recently, he has backed the controversial Muslim housing development outside Dallas, "EPIC City." He noted in his Instagram post, "open to non-Americans as well."
In 2012, Latif led a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia that included Omar Mateen, who would later murder 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the deadliest anti-LGBTQ attack in U.S. history. He has denied radicalizing Mateen, and he hasn’t faced the same type of allegations that surround other imams.
After the backlash to Mamdani’s meeting with Wahhaj, he posted, "Happy birthday to my brother Zohran… Keep showing them who we are by showing them who you are."
He invoked the divine to bless Mamdani’s mission, revealing the fusion of religion and politics for the Mamdani God Squad: "May your 34th year be one of clarity, courage, and closeness — to your purpose, your people, and your Creator," ending with the Arabic word for amen, "Ameen."
On Monday, Latif posted a sassy video from the Muslim Democratic Club of New York, saying, "The name is Mamdani, M-a-m-d-a-n-i," with Latif mouthing the part where the narration turns to, "You should learn how to say it."
In a glowing portrait, The New York Times called Palestinian American political organizer Linda Sarsour a "Brooklyn home girl in a hijab." Over almost a decade, she has been a political mentor to Mamdani, inviting him into the Muslim Democratic Club of New York, which she co-founded. She later endorsed his race for the New York General Assembly, which he won.
Activist Linda Sarsour speaks earlier this year at the Lights for Liberty vigil held in protest of the Trump administration's ICE actions. (Erik McGregor/LightRocket via Getty Images)
All the while, she has been a polarizing figure, once saying about two critics, author and ex-Muslim Ayaan Hirsi Ali and activist Brigitte Gabriel, "I wish I could take their vagina away - they don’t deserve to be women." Ali is a survivor of female genital mutilation, a practice that involves cutting the clitoris of a young girl with the idea that it will inhibit sexual promiscuity.
As a co-founder of the Women’s March, Sarsour stepped down amid criticism of alleged antisemitism and not welcoming Jewish feminists who support the state of Israel, or "Zionists."
At a rally on Sunday night with Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Imam Latif told 13,000 people, "This is our city. This is our moment."
"Across the boroughs, the Mamdani God Squad is banging a drumbeat of grievance after grievance, from Staten Island to Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Long Island," he said. "Across the city’s Muslim institutions, you hear the same drumbeat: They smeared us. They silenced us. They fear us.
"In that rising volume, something is lost: Muslim pluralism. The God Squad does not speak for every Muslim in New York — nor for every Shia, every Sunni, every immigrant family, or every second-generation kid trying to thread faith and freedom. It speaks for a coalition committed to illiberal ends, with socialist capture of city politics on the one hand and puritanical religious rhetoric on the other. They insist that to oppose them is to betray the community, so they actually push their own tyranny."

Nov 01, 2025
India has issued a powerful rebuttal to Pakistan at the United Nations, exposing Islamabad for its ongoing human rights abuses in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Calling out Pakistan’s “decades-long hypocrisy,” India reminded the world that civilians in PoK are being shot, silenced and crushed for demanding basic freedoms, while Pakistan continues to lecture others on human rights. India accused Pakistan of using the UN as a propaganda stage, repeating false allegations against India while ignoring the revolt inside its own occupied territory. The statement also reminded the UN that its 1948 Resolution asked Pakistan to vacate the region first, a condition Pakistan has violated for 76 years. With Pakistan’s lies now collapsing under global scrutiny and PoK residents openly resisting military control, India’s message is clear: The world can no longer ignore Pakistan’s war crimes under the guise of Kashmir issue.

India’s First Full-Scale “Fill the Jail” Against Waqf Act Held Under AIMPLB Campaign
2 November 2025
AhlulBayt News Agency: In a powerful show of unity, thousands of people gathered in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, this week to protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025, which Muslim organisations have described as a “black law” and a “direct attack on religious freedom.”
The protest, organised by the Tehaffuz Auqaf Committee Jalgaon (Save Waqf Committee), was held under the banner of the “Jail Bharo Andolan”, a movement initiated by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB).
Earlier this month, the AIMPLB had attempted a similar protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 12, but this time, the call resonated strongly in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district.
The protest began with a two-hour sit-in, after which nearly 2,000 protesters were detained by police and kept at the ZilaPeth police station. They were released later in the evening.
Speaking to reporters, organiser Farooq Shaikh said, “We surrendered to the police voluntarily. This movement involved not only Muslims but people from all communities and political backgrounds who believe in justice, equality, and the Constitution.”
A delegation led by Mufti Khalid, President of the Tehaffuz Waqf Committee, met Additional Collector ShrimantHarkar and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India containing five key demands.

Shimla court orders demolition of Sanjauli mosque within 2 months
Nov 2, 2025
Shimla: The Shimla district court has directed the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board and the president of the Sanjauli Masjid Committee to demolish the complete unauthorised portion of the disputed five-storey Sanjauli mosque within 2 months, failing which the municipal corporation will demolish the structure at the expense of these two bodies.
The judgment, passed by additional district judge Yajuvender Singh and released on Saturday, said the revenue records show land on which the mosque stands does not belong to the waqf board and is still in the name of the state govt. The court noted the land, without dispute, is within the limits of the Shimla municipal corporation, making it subject to the provisions of the Municipal Corporation Act for raising any structure. Mohammad Latif, president of the Sanjauli Masjid Committee, said, "We are going to file an appeal in the high court, and if required, we will also go up to the Supreme Court."
Dismissing appeals moved by the board and Latif, the district court affirmed the order passed by the municipal commissioner Bhupender Kumar Attri's court on May 3, ordering the demolition of the remaining two floors — ground and first – of the five-storeyed mosque. The court clarified that the municipal commissioner court's order was based on proper appreciation of facts and did not suffer any illegality.
The court found that as per the municipal corporation record, illegal construction of the masjid was carried out in 2010. Initially, a ground floor was reconstructed by the Sanjauli Masjid Committee after demolishing the old masjid, having a total area of 117.37 square metres, based on a map that was never approved by the municipal corporation. Thereafter, another four storeys were raised.

Kabul dismisses rumours of Indian presence at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan
By: ABHINANDAN MISHRA
November 2, 2025
NEW DELHI: India has neither sought nor been offered any presence at the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, officials in Kabul clarified, dismissing recent social media reports as “baseless” and aimed at discrediting the relationship between the two countries. The clarification comes amid a swirl of speculative posts on various online platforms suggesting that New Delhi was negotiating a role or logistical access at the sprawling former U.S. military base north of Kabul. Afghan officials described such claims as “fabrications,” pointing instead to “deliberate attempts” by certain quarters to sow suspicion about India’s engagement with Afghanistan’s current administration.
The rumours gained traction after reports surfaced that India had quietly wound down its limited logistical presence and withdrawn its assets and personnel from the Ayni Air Base in Tajikistan a facility it had helped refurbish two decades ago. While India’s involvement there was limited to technical cooperation, its exit triggered speculation that it might seek a replacement foothold in the region, possibly within Afghanistan. However, informed sources have underscored that no such move has been initiated or discussed. “There is absolutely no proposal under consideration for any Indian presence in Bagram,” a source familiar with the matter said, calling the social media chatter “a coordinated misinformation attempt”.
Behind the rumours lies the enduring strategic weight of Bagram. Once the nerve centre of U.S. and NATO operations in Afghanistan, the base—just 60 kilometres north of Kabul remains one of the most heavily fortified and well-equipped military installations in the region. Built initially by the Soviets in the 1950s and later expanded by American forces after 2001, Bagram’s twin runways and deep logistical network made it the linchpin of foreign military presence in Afghanistan for nearly two decades. Its strategic location close to the Hindu Kush and within operational reach of Central and South Asia has long made it a coveted site for intelligence, logistics, and counter-terror operations.

Awami League Commands Strong Support Base In Bangladesh: Report
Nov 01, 2025
Although the interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, has downplayed Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's call to boycott the February 2026 elections, the support base of the Awami League tells a different story, a report revealed on Saturday.
It added that even in its worst performance in the 2001 election - winning 62 of 300 seats - the Awami League secured over 22 million votes, only about a million fewer than the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which won 193 seats, underscoring the Awami League's enduring popular base.
Writing for leading German media outlet Deutsche Welle (DW), senior journalist and political analyst Masood Kamal observed that a large number of the Awami League supporters remain “ideologically and historically devoted” to the party despite the allegations levelled against its leadership.

Is Barack Obama supporting Zohran Mamdani in NYC Mayoral Race? Inside their 30-minutes call
Nov 2, 2025
Former US President Barack Obama seems to be supporting assembly member Zohran Mamdani for the New York mayoral election.
According to the New York Times, Obama called Mamdani on Saturday, praising his mayoral campaign and offering to serve as a “sounding board” for the candidate. The two spoke for about 30 minutes in what is believed to be their second phone conversation since June.
Mamdani has shaken up the New York City mayoral race by winning the Democratic nomination over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is now running as an independent. He led in polls against both Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
According to two people familiar with the matter, Obama told Mamdani he was invested in his success and discussed early challenges of staffing a new administration and delivering on pledges such as an affordability agenda.
“Your campaign has been impressive to watch,” Obama said, noting Mamdani’s effective social media and voter outreach strategies. He also offered to be a sounding board and spoke of meeting in person at a later date. Mamdani reportedly thanked Obama for the call.

Minneapolis Mayoral Candidate Omar Fateh: This Is A Direct Result Of Minnesota Welcoming Muslims
By Ian Schwartz
02-11-2025
Minnesota State Sen. Omar Fateh (D) spoke with Amy Goodman on "Democracy Now!" about his campaign for Minneapolis mayor. Fateh discussed Minnesota's tradition of welcoming Muslim communities and highlighted the political successes of fellow Muslims, including Attorney General Keith Ellison and U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar.
AMY GOODMAN: How do you feel, Omar Fateh, about being called the “Mamdani of the Midwest”? One of the issues that Zohran Mamdani raises in this New York mayoral race is the issue of big money. If you can also talk about the role of big money in your mayoral race, PACs protecting the interests of developers and funneling millions of dollars into campaigns and your chief rival, Mayor Frey?
SEN. OMAR FATEH: Yeah, what we’re seeing with Zohran’s campaign and campaigns across the nation is that we’re seeing progressive candidates running on a sincere and authentic message around affordability and making the lives of working families better. For far too long, the Democratic Party has lost the message around how to improve the lives, around the costs of living, around renters that are struggling with paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make the next month’s rent, struggling to pay for basic food and and healthcare costs. And so, this is kind of the reason why we saw a hard swing in 2024 with Trump winning the presidency and now candidates on the left or in the Democratic Party winning with a similar message around affordability. Now, was Trump lying when he was running? One hundred percent, of course he was. But he knew that that was a message that would resonate the most with the population.
And so, right now what we’re seeing here in Minneapolis is that Mayor Frey has five PACs right now — not one, not two, but five PACs — that have been well funded, that have been sending out glossy mailers, nonstop ads on social media and on YouTube and things like that. And the reality is that if an incumbent has been doing the on-the-ground work, connecting with residents, connecting with stakeholders, working well with city council and cross-jurisdictionally across different levels of government, there wouldn’t be the need to spend that much money and having five different PACs to defend you. It’s very telling that right now that the mayor doesn’t have a single county endorsement, county commissioner endorsement, or state legislator endorsement. And it’s because he hasn’t been able to work well with others and has handed the city off in his last two terms to the wealthy and the well-connected and not to working families. And so, that has been evident throughout this campaign.

Trump threatens to send US military into Nigeria, alleging mass killing of Christians
02/11/2025
US President Donald Trump threatened on Saturday to send the military into Nigeria with “guns-a-blazing” if Africa’s most populous country does not stem what he described as the killing of Christians by Islamists.
In an explosive post, the Republican leader—who had campaigned unsuccessfully for the Nobel Peace Prize—said on social media he asked the Pentagon to map out a possible plan of attack, one day after warning that Christianity was “facing an existential threat in Nigeria.”
“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” Trump said.
“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians,” he added, warning the Nigerian government that they “BETTER MOVE FAST!”
“The Department of War is preparing for action. Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” Hegseth said.
Trump posted on Friday, without evidence, that “thousands of Christians are being killed (and) Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.”
In March, US congressman Chris Smith called for Nigeria to be listed by the State Department as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) -- a move announced by Trump on Friday over what he called an “existential threat” to the African nation’s Christian population.

‘Neither Shah Nor Mullahs, Only Democracy’: PMOI Resistance Units Send A Clear Message, In Zahedan
By Matin Karim
November 1, 2025
On Friday, October 31, the streets of Zahedan once again became a stage for defiance as PMOI Resistance Units resumed their anti-regime activities. This latest action underscores the unyielding spirit of the national uprising, which seeks not just to overthrow the current theocracy but to establish a democratic republic that completely rejects all forms of dictatorship. The messages displayed by these brave activists, predominantly from the younger generation, offer a clear and sophisticated vision for Iran’s future—one where the people’s sovereignty is paramount.
The activities in Zahedan placed a strong emphasis on the central role of Iran’s youth. Placards declared, “Generation Z is the core of future uprisings,” highlighting their determination to shape the destiny of their nation.
For this generation, the clerical regime has delivered nothing but despair. As another sign read, “Under the rule of the mullahs, the share of the youth has only been unemployment, poverty and executions.” In response, the youth have made their intentions clear: “The young generation of Iran has risen to expose and overthrow this injustice.” Their actions are a testament to the fact that the very generation the regime has sought to suppress has become the engine of its downfall.

US Senator Cruz backs bill against Sharia, blasphemy laws in Nigeria
Faith Omoboye
November 1, 2025
Ted Cruz, a United States senator has vowed to push legislation targeting the use of Sharia and blasphemy laws in Nigeria, following Washington’s decision to place the country back on its list of nations accused of violating religious freedom.
The move comes after Donald Trump, U.S. president announced that Nigeria had been redesignated as a “Country of Particular Concern,” a label reserved for countries the U.S. says engage in or tolerate serious abuses of religious liberty.
Cruz, a Republican representing Texas, said the step aligns with his long-standing campaign to defend Christians facing persecution around the world.
“I am deeply gratified to President Trump for making this determination,” Cruz said in a statement published on his official website. “I have fought for years to counter the slaughter and persecution of Christians in Nigeria, and this year introduced legislation that will lock in the designation made today.”
According to Cruz, the proposed bill will impose sanctions and accountability measures on Nigerian officials who support or enforce blasphemy or Sharia laws. “Today’s designation is a critical step in holding accountable and changing the behaviour of Nigerian officials who have facilitated and created an environment conducive to the outrages in Nigeria,” he added.

FBI thwarts ‘Islamic State-inspired Hallowe’en terror attack’
Susie Coen
2 November 2025
The FBI has said it thwarted a “potential” Islamic State-inspired Hallowe’en attack by a group seen practising reloading AK-47s at a shooting range.
Several arrests were made in Michigan on Friday as part of a federal probe into the plot, said to be planned for this weekend, said Kash Patel, the director of the FBI.
The plot was inspired by IS and the group allegedly planned the attack in an online chatroom which had been infiltrated by an undercover FBI agent, CNN reported.
The group allegedly made references to “pumpkin day” and this week went to a shooting range with AK-47s, where they fired ammunition and practised tactical high-speed reloads, according to reports.

'Apocalyptic situation': UK, Germany and Jordan call for ceasefire in Sudan
AysuBiçer
02.11.2025
The foreign ministers of the UK, Germany, and Jordan on Saturday jointly called for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan, following reports of atrocities and human rights abuses in the country’s Darfur region.
Speaking at a security summit in the Bahraini capital of Manama, the ministers condemned what they described as “horrifying” violence committed by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of El-Fasher.
The statement comes as the UN warns that the RSF has rampaged through El-Fasher, killing hundreds of civilians and carrying out ethnically targeted attacks.
The RSF has denied killing people at the hospital. However, satellite images, videos shared on social media, and accounts from those who escaped the city suggest widespread violence and devastation.

Report on Development Traps and the Role of Islamic Finance
02-11-2025
The Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI) (https://IsDBInstitute.org/), in collaboration with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), has officially launched a landmark joint publication titled “Development Traps and the Role of Islamic Finance: An Introduction to Development Challenges Facing IsDB Member Countries.”
The report was launched during the 20th AAOIFI-IsDB Annual Islamic Banking and Finance Conference held on 2 November 2025 in Manama, Bahrain. The conference brought together policymakers, economists, and industry leaders to discuss how Islamic finance can help member countries overcome persistent structural barriers to growth.
The new report is the first volume in the Development Traps Report Series, a flagship initiative of IsDBI and LSEG. It introduces a data-driven framework to identify and address five key development traps that can hinder long-term growth: the Middle-Income Trap, Natural Resources Trap, SMEs & MSMEs Trap, Debt Trap, and Technology Trap.
Drawing on data from over 20 global institutions, including the World Bank, IMF, UNDP, WIPO, OPEC, and ILO, the report integrates quantitative indicators with Islamic finance perspectives, demonstrating how Sharīʿah-compliant instruments such as sukūk, waqf, muḍārabah, and zakāt can play a pivotal role in mitigating development stagnation and promoting inclusive economic transformation.

From Qarabağ to Kashmir: How shared struggles unite Pakistan, Azerbaijan
ElnurEnveroglu
1 November 2025
On 8 November, Azerbaijan will mark the fifth anniversary of its historic Victory Day. It is a date that was etched not only into national memory but also into the collective consciousness of the Muslim world. The liberation of Azerbaijani lands after more than three decades of occupation was not merely a geopolitical triumph. It was a moral and spiritual victory, an affirmation of justice long delayed but finally delivered. Yet Azerbaijan has never claimed this victory as a solitary achievement. Behind every soldier of its valiant army stood the steadfast friendship of its allies, foremost among them, the Republic of Türkiye and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The solidarity of these two brotherly nations, particularly Pakistan’s unwavering moral and political support, has been a cornerstone of Azerbaijan’s resilience throughout the conflict and in its aftermath.
The story of Pakistan’s friendship with Azerbaijan began even before the ink on Azerbaijan’s independence was dry. On 12 December 1991, Pakistan became one of the very first countries to recognise Azerbaijan’s sovereignty. But it was more than a diplomatic gesture; it was a sign of kinship. In an era when many nations hesitated to choose sides, Pakistan took a principled stand by refusing to recognise the occupying country as a state, literally, citing its occupation of Azerbaijani territories. Such integrity is rare in international politics, where pragmatism often eclipses morality. Pakistan’s position was rooted not in transactional diplomacy but in shared values, such as faith, justice, and the enduring ideal of freedom. Over the years, this moral alliance has matured into a strategic partnership, embodied in robust defence cooperation and mutual political support on the global stage.
The defence partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan has evolved into one of the most significant pillars of their bilateral relations. The two nations have signed multiple agreements covering military training, intelligence sharing, and joint exercises. Pakistani military instructors have helped train Azerbaijani officers, while Azerbaijani cadets have studied at Pakistan’s prestigious military academies. In recent years, trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye has created what analysts often refer to as a “triangle of brotherhood”, a regional bloc rooted in shared Islamic identity, strategic interests, and a collective aspiration for stability. The three nations’ joint military exercises, such as “Three Brothers – 2021”, stand as living proof of this alliance in motion. When President Ilham Aliyev paid an official visit to Islamabad, the reception he received spoke volumes about Pakistan’s affection for Azerbaijan. As his aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, it was escorted by the proud wings of Pakistan’s Air Force fighter jets, a rare honour reserved for the most trusted of friends. It was not just a diplomatic protocol; it was a symbol, a gesture that resonated with emotion, a brother’s salute to another brother’s victory.

Muslim Group Urges US to End Support for Israeli Regime’s Gaza Assault
November, 01, 2025
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Trump administration to enforce US law and immediately suspend all weapons transfers to the Israeli regime over its brutal military campaign in Gaza.
CAIR’s demand follows a Washington Post report citing findings from a US government watchdog that uncovered “many hundreds” of potential human rights violations committed by Israeli forces — violations so widespread that investigators said it could take years to review them fully.
Under the Leahy Laws, Washington is required to halt assistance to any foreign military units involved in gross human rights abuses. Despite this, successive US administrations have shielded the Israeli regime from accountability.

2 November 2025
Mediators are pressing ahead with efforts to uphold a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip despite continued Israeli violations, as attention turns to a meeting scheduled in Istanbul on Monday.
The meeting, announced by Türkiye, one of the guarantors of the deal reached in Sharm el-Sheikh last month, is expected to carry several messages, according to Palestinian and Turkish analysts who spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat.
Chief among them is a call to Israel to maintain the ceasefire and expedite approval for the deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza.
The gathering will also urge Washington to sustain pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to remove any obstacles to the agreement’s implementation.
As the Israeli army confirmed on Saturday that the crisis over the bodies of hostages remains unresolved, and continued its strikes for a fourth consecutive day across Gaza, mediation efforts have intensified.
Turkish Foreign Minister HakanFidan said at a press conference on Friday that the foreign ministers of the Arab-Islamic Contact Group, who met US President Donald Trump in New York in September, will convene in Istanbul on Monday.

Israeli Army escalates attacks in ongoing violation of Gaza ceasefire
November 02, 2025
The Israeli occupation army has continued to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, launching new bombardments and artillery shelling on multiple areas across the enclave on Sunday.
Palestinian sources reported ongoing artillery shelling targeting the eastern areas of Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, accompanied by intense gunfire from armored vehicles and tanks positioned along the eastern border, striking Palestinian homes and agricultural lands.
In the north, Israeli occupation vehicles stationed east of Tuffah, Shujaiyya, and the Jabalia refugee camp opened heavy fire, while artillery units bombarded the eastern parts of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Field sources also confirmed that Israeli forces continue to carry out large-scale demolitions in eastern Gaza, causing loud explosions as they destroy residential neighborhoods and homes located within the so-called “yellow line” along the separation barrier between Gaza and the Israeli-occupied territories.

US looks to build ‘new Gaza’ on half of Strip under IDF control, but faces pushback
By Jacob Magid
One of the main proposals for rebuilding the Gaza Strip that US President Donald Trump’s administration has presented to potential Gulf donor countries envisions the construction of roughly half a dozen residential regions on the eastern half of the Strip, which is currently under Israeli control, two Arab diplomats familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel.
The diplomats said that “new Gaza” is the term frequently used by US officials to describe the project that will take place on the eastern side of the Yellow Line — the newly created boundary to which the IDF withdrew on the October 10 at start of the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The partial withdrawal left Israel in control of roughly 53 percent of Gaza, but Trump’s plan for ending the war envisions the IDF gradually withdrawing to the other side of the Gaza border and leaving the Strip altogether.
However, that withdrawal is linked to the success of a still-to-be-established International Stabilization Force (ISF) tasked with securing postwar Gaza, along with the disarmament of the Hamas terror group, which has shown no interest in giving up its weapons.
