Own Up to Your Mistakes— Why Bring in God All the Time?

A recent viral controversy from the Delhi/NCR region involves a patient, Noor Saba, who alleged that a doctor named Mohammad Nadeem severed the wrong internal structure/vein during a gallbladder surgery at Alvi Nursing Home in Loni, Ghaziabad.

When the patient confronted the doctor and asked what would have happened if she died, he allegedly deflected responsibility by repeatedly stating, "It's Allah's will" (Allah ki marzi). The situation escalated when the patient claimed the doctor offered a nominal monetary amount to settle the issue. The case sparked massive outrage on social media and brought national attention to the issues of medical accountability, religious deflections, and potential medical malpractice.

Well, the case may even be fake or exaggerated. That's not an issue. What's more important is this casual approach and syndrome of passing the buck to god/Allah/or some supernatural power. Why bring in god all the time? Admit your mistakes and follies. Learn to own up to them. To err is human. The concocted god is a psychological spring board for most of the humans in this world. They tend to put their failures down to a monotheistic god, polytheistic gods (depending upon the nature and type of their faith !) or fate. It shows that human thinking is NOT independent of an imaginary god and celestial agencies. Our thinking is polluted and clouded by god. It has developed a pattern over thousands of years. The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks.

True independence of thought is not solely vested in the actual ideas one holds, but rather in the manner and approach with which one arrives at these ideas. It emphasizes the importance of critical thinking, reason, and an open-mindedness that allows for continuous questioning and exploration. Move beyond dogmas and ideologically driven thought patterns. The true essence of an independent mind lies in its capacity for discernment and its commitment to rationality and informed inquiry.

There's no need for uttering Allah ki marzi, Alhamdulillah, Inshallah, God willing or Bhagwan ki kripa at the beginning and end of your every sentence and also there's no need to say PBUH (Peace Be Upon Him) like a parrot. If that person, prophet or entity needs Peace all the time, why on earth do you utter his name and disturb him? Let him rest in the tomb or wherever he is. These are futile religio-cultural patterns and imprints on human brains.  These rigid belief systems and patterns hinder the pursuit of knowledge and hinder the ability to question and explore new ideas. Dogma, often associated with established doctrines or principles, can stifle critical thinking and discourage individuals from challenging the status quo. Similarly, blind faith can prevent the rational examination of evidence, potentially impeding scientific progress. So, maintain an open mind and embrace the values of curiosity, evidence-based thinking, and rational analysis to foster intellectual growth and discovery.

Coming back to the case of this utterly frivolous doctor who blundered, if this incident happened and he indeed said, ' It's Allah ki Marzi,' dismiss him with a note that it's also Allah's will that he must be sacked! Medical profession will benefit sans such morons and zealots. Alhamdulillah!
